I had initially set out to draw an industrial subject around Wilton or South Bank near Middlesborough but I couldn’t settle on a subject. Since drawing Saltburn Pier I had had it in mind to tackle this famous bridge. As usual with the charcoal drawings the whites are restored by cutting into the paper.
