This painting was finished in the Autumn of 2005. The whole of the distant cliff was painted from a vantage point in the middle of the village. In my opinion this is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the country. The village nestles into the hill and I had to play around with elements of it to complete the composition. The problem being that if you walk down into Runswick Bay the village is largely obscured by trees.
