Andy Hawkins studied at Doncaster, Stourbridge and the Royal College of Art, London. His passion for drawing was kindled by some inspirational teaching at Foundation level, and his teachers at the RCA included Peter Blake, Eduardo Paolozzi and Derek Boshier, whose etchings he editioned.
Andy Hawkins has exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy, Fischer Fine Art and the Ikon Gallery. He has also exhibited in Germany, Australia and the USA.
Andy Hawkins taught drawing and painting in many Art Schools including Leeds and Manchester Metropolitan Universities, Oxford Brookes and the University of Westminster. He now devotes his time to painting and prefers to work outdoors, observing the changing moods of the local landscape.
